LARC (Long-Acting Reversible Contraception)

4 types of IUD.png

INTRAUTERINE DEVICE or IUD

Currently there are two (2) forms of IUD available in our office: the copper IUD (ParaGard-T) and the levonorgestrel-containing IUD. Currently there are 2 IUDs that contain levonorgestrel. The original one is called Mirena, but this IUD was remade into a smaller, narrower version for the woman who has never been pregnant or who has never delivered a baby. This newer IUD is called Skyla. All 3 of these IUDs are available in our clinic. To determine which one may be right for you, you will need to schedule an appointment and discuss it with one of our providers.
