Knowing your risk for heart disease is the first step in maintaining a healthy heart. Heart disease still claims one out of every three deaths in the United States. Traditionally, providers focused on cholesterol levels as the primary indicator of risk - but that alone isn't enough. Advanced testing goes far beyond standard cholesterol screening to accurately determine your individual risk.
Blood is drawn early in the morning and requires a fasting specimen (drinking water beforehand is encouraged). Results are usually reported within 3-4 weeks, at which point we'll schedule a follow-up with your provider or dietitian to review them in detail. We also help set up a free dietary program through Boston Heart's advanced online software, which you'll have ongoing access to.
