ENDOMETRIAL BIOPSY
Evaluating the uterine lining
An endometrial biopsy evaluates the lining of the uterus and is commonly used to investigate irregular or postmenopausal bleeding, and to assess fertility hormone timing. A small instrument is passed through the cervix two to three times to collect a tissue sample, with mild cramping lasting about 15 minutes.
Afterward, we recommend taking ibuprofen (600-800mg) or Aleve for any discomfort.
Results are typically available within about a week, and our office will call you with your results. If you haven't heard from us within 7 business days, please contact our office.
